Context & Overview

Within Spain’s accelerating digital transformation, many small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) face the challenge of automating customer interactions to remain competitive. In February 2025, SERSEO Marketing Digital launched ChatbotIA, a product specifically designed for SMEs, aimed at automating customer service processes and improving user experience.

This case is highly relevant for the AIVET training module as it demonstrates how repetitive tasks can be identified, how accessible AI solutions can be implemented, and what tangible results SMEs can achieve.

 

Challenge Addressed

  • SMEs often lack the resources to invest in expensive automation platforms or dedicated technical teams.
  • Repetitive customer service tasks (FAQs, booking management, out-of-hours responses) consume valuable staff time, reducing focus on strategic or personalized activities.
  • Many existing automation solutions are costly, rely on proprietary licenses, or are poorly adapted to the budget and technical capacity of SMEs.

 

Solution Implemented

  • SERSEO introduced ChatbotIA, an AI-powered chatbot for customer service, integrated into the service packages provided by the agency.
  • The chatbot is capable of understanding natural language, answering FAQs, handling appointment scheduling, responding 24/7, and offering personalized communication.
  • The solution leverages open-source technology, reducing licensing dependency and long-term costs.
  • Crucially, ChatbotIA does not require high upfront investment or separate monthly fees—it is included as part of SERSEO’s digital marketing services.

 

Impact & Results

  • Time and resource savings: the chatbot takes over repetitive tasks, freeing staff for more strategic work.
  • Customer experience improvements: round-the-clock availability, instant answers, and personalized interactions.
  • Lower barriers to technology adoption: even SMEs with limited budgets or technical capacity can benefit from AI.
  • Operational efficiency: for example, in a local hair salon, the system reduced appointment cancellations and increased customer loyalty through efficient automated management.
