AIM@VET Project – Integrating AI in VET Curricula

Context & Overview

The AIM@VET (Artificial Intelligence learning modules to adapt VET to digital transformation) is a European Erasmus+ project with Spanish participation. The project designs AI modules for VET curriculum in robotics, computer vision and “intelligent environment” across VET centers and universities.

 

Challenge Addressed

Many VET programs are lagging in AI integration; faculty and curriculum lack structured AI modules. There is a need to modernize curricula so that VET students are prepared for AI‑driven workplaces.

 

Solution Implemented

A modular AI curriculum was developed, covering areas like robotics, vision, and intelligent systems. Teachers and students from partner VET centers (e.g. Integrated VET Center Rodolfo Ucha Piñeiro in Ferrol) collaborated in project-based tasks.

The modules were piloted in VET settings, integrating technology demands of local labor markets.

 

Impact & Results

At the closing event in June 2025, about 120 participants (students, teachers, researchers) reviewed results. The project delivered a curriculum with 12 didactic units plus digital guides for VET centers.

Conclusion

AIM@VET shows how structured AI modules can be embedded in vocational curricula, enhancing employability and bridging technology and education.
