Description

The AI-ENABLE project, funded under the Erasmus+ KA2 action (“Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices”), addresses a critical challenge: many educators and higher education institutions lack the training, resources, and strategies to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) effectively, ethically, and inclusively into their teaching practices.

The project’s main goal is to explore and promote the use of AI technologies to support inclusive education, especially for students with diverse needs (e.g., disabilities or different learning styles), ensuring that no one is left behind in the educational innovation process.

Key project activities include:

  • Needs assessment: Identifying gaps in teachers’ and institutions’ readiness for AI adoption, including training needs, technical barriers, and ethical challenges.
  • Resource development: Creating training materials and tools for educators in higher education to integrate AI into teaching methodologies, with adaptability to different learning needs and abilities.
  • Good practice guidelines: Developing ethical and pedagogical frameworks for AI implementation, focusing on issues such as data privacy, transparency, accessibility, and inclusiveness.
  • Pilot implementations: Testing the developed tools and resources in partner institutions, gathering feedback from both teachers and students, and refining materials based on this feedback.

Expected outcomes of AI-ENABLE include improved digital competences among educators, particularly in AI literacy (understanding how AI works, how it can be applied pedagogically, and its risks), enhanced inclusion in education, and the production of reusable resources and materials for other universities or training centers.

This project serves as a strong good practice example because it directly addresses the transformation of teaching roles, the critical integration of AI, ethical considerations, continuous professional development, and practical implementation through pilots. Its inclusive focus emphasizes that AI in education should not only improve efficiency but also guarantee fairness and accessibility for all learners.
